Rugby Union in Argentina
Bring your school team to Argentina where rugby union is a popular sport across the country - in particular, Buenos Aires. The game was introduced by the British and the first rugby match played in the country, was in 1873. The Argentinian rugby team, sometimes known as the Pumas, are considered a tier 1 team by the International Rugby Board.
It is obvious why Argentina has everyone in awe when they travel there the authenticity, culture and the delicious cuisine is unimaginable. Buenos Aires is perhaps one of the most fascinating places to visit – many describe the capital as being very like Europe but with that passionate, edgy Latin America twist. Just by walking through the city you can embrace the culture greatly.
When not playing fixtures, your group can saddle up for some equestrian adventures. See all the major landscapes on horse back and tour around and enjoy the views. Everyone loves a bit of wildlife so why not take a trip to the Punta Tomba to witness the Magellanic penguins in the natural habitat or visit the beautiful white tigers and pygmy hippos at Parque Temeken.
After a tough training session, challenging fixtures or a full day of excursions you will have worked up quite the appetite so this could be the perfect time to indulge in a speciality of Argentina – the steak. If there are some vegetarians amongst your group, this will NOT be an issue - authentic Argentinian vegetarian restaurants are scattered throughout the capital.
South America offers a truly memorable and exciting cultural adventure for all groups.
