Money for Milk
The Baphumelele Project began in 1989 when Rosalia Mashale took it unto herself to look after and nurture young children she had witnessed rummaging in rubbish dumps in search for food. As a result of these humble beginnings, the 'Baphumelele Educare Centre' was founded and now has an established community crèche and Reception class. With the positive response of the Educare Centre, The 'Baphumelele Children's Home' for orphans was created. This wonderful, caring environment was created as a place of safety for abandoned, abused, neglected or orphaned children, many of whom have been affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic or have HIV/AIDS themselves.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to give back to those in need, whether it be visiting the children in the crèche and helping with feeding time, playing with the toddlers in Reception, or helping with the continuous maintenance and building the project requires.
