Jamborees & Events
"The real way to get happiness is to give out happiness. Try and leave this world a little better than you found it." As a final message from Baden Powell this is as relevant – if not more so - today as it was then and continues to inspire Scouts around the world.
Here at Travel Places we have a breadth of knowledge assisting Scouts and Girl Guides to explore the world and experience the wonder that only international travel can bring. We were the appointed agents to the UK and Canadian Contingents for the 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Japan and assisted more than 4,000 participants, IST and CMT with their travel to and from Japan and with their pre and post tours.
We also support districts, groups and units with both the planning and organising or their international adventures, both in Europe and further afield. Recent visit include: Iceland, Kenya and Kandersteg in Switzerland. Whether it is undertaking an Explorer Belt Challenge, completing a topic on the Queen's Scout Awards' IEV list or travelling on a group exchange visit, we have the experience to take away the pressures and leave you the time to enjoy the trip. There are Scout Associations in 216 countries and territories worldwide, so the only challenge is deciding where to go!
If you want to undertake a community project as part of your adventure then we have strong partnerships with charities in Kenya, Uganda and Peru and can facilitate an exchange between your group and those charities. Community projects can make a real difference, introduce an international angle into your Scouting Balanced Programme and are a perfect way to broaden a young person's horizons.
