Part 2 – Pippa
The Chestnut Tree #Littlehampton10k on Sunday was a superb day! With some help from fantastic volunteers, friendly scouts, the always lively Splash FM team, generous local companies, and of course Peppa Pig, the day ran extremely smoothly and was something pretty special to be a part of. The route took over 1000 people from Littlehampton to Rustington with a final stretch along the seafront. Just when we thought about slowing down or giving up there would be a steward just ahead shouting motivation to spur everyone on. Along the way we were given extra energy with essential water stations, and a few tunes from the steel drums to help us regain a rhythm. The final 400m to the finish line had cheerers either side for the final bit to achieve personal best times and get everyone smiling for the photo finish. There has been plenty of buzz about the event on Twitter and a few awesome snaps on Instagram which we’ve been enjoying in the TP office. I would definitely recommend the event to all keen and novice runners, joggers, and walkers who want to be involved in a really important event. Government funding is so limited that the charity relies heavily on fundraisers and volunteers to make days like these a huge success. We’re looking forward to hearing the final amount raised and will be keeping an eye out for the 2015 sign up! A huge thank you and well done to the Chestnut Tree team, and a pat on the back for #TeamTP.
