Travel Places Announces Leaders Partnership

Travel Places are proud to officially announce our ongoing partnership with Leaders, a conference and content platform for leaders in the global sports business. The strategic partnership aims to deliver seamless travel and accommodation solutions for the premium conference in world sport.

Commenting on the partnership, Matt Warren, Managing Director Travel Places, said:

“Our heritage is in moving elite athletes, teams, VIPs, and media crews across the Globe, so it seems only natural for us to be supporting the premium conference series for leaders in world sport. We understand the value of creating seamless travel solutions so that you can focus on what matters, performance. In the complex state of international travel today, our bespoke approach to our client’s travel needs has never been more required and we look forward to supporting the Leader’s team, and their attendees’ travel and accommodation requirements across their calendar of events.”

Leaders Week, London 2021:

Our first event as the official Travel and Accommodation provider for Leaders saw 1000 industry experts descend on Twickenham Stadium in London for the annual ‘Leaders Week’, a sporting conference which aims to celebrate the organisations and individuals from around the globe who are pushing boundaries and setting an example throughout the sports industry.

As the Sustainability award partner for Leaders in Sport, a focus on sustainability is of paramount importance to our business. It was inspiring to see some of the work organisations are doing to promote and combat environmental and ecological issues within society, using sport as a vehicle to communicate and facilitate change. We had the pleasure of presenting the inaugural ‘Leader in Sustainability’ award to Extreme E for the work they do to deliver motorsport events sustainably. The competition was fierce, and we also want to offer our congratulations to all the other nominees (Southampton FC, Formula 1, Run for the Oceans, Formula E). Despite witnessing some of the impressive work the industry is doing to drive sustainable change in sport, there is still widespread recognition that there is much more to be done. Throughout the week, multiple conversations were held with a wide range of individuals and organisations who all understand the issues at hand and will continue to act as catalysts in this area for the industry.

Leaders Week was the first major in-person sports industry event since the start of the pandemic. The overriding takeaway from the conference was the benefit of being able to meet with everyone in person once again. Between the panels and speaking engagements, there were plenty of opportunities to join with colleagues and make new connections. Long may it continue.

Finally, our time at Leaders Week has made one thing very clear, due to the pandemic, the sports industry has changed. Business models have been disrupted and consumer behaviour has most likely changed forever. There is a real opportunity for those brands, clubs and media owners who are open to this change and who are nimble to pivot based on audience data. It’s an exciting time for the sports industry and we look forward to seeing the expertise coming out of the next 12 months.

The next event held by Leaders, in association with Travel Places, is The Sport Performance Summit, London, 9-10 November 2021.
