Celebrating 20 Years at Podium House
This year marks an important milestone for our business: 20 years at Podium House – the home of our business. It’s a time to reflect on the past two decades, celebrating the people, progress and pivotal moments that have shaped our journey, while also looking forward to what lies ahead.
Establishing our home at Podium House
What began as a single-floor office for Travel Places has grown into a much larger footprint, both physically and as a business, reflecting two decades of ambition, resilience and continued evolution.
When we first moved into Podium House, we occupied just one floor. As the business grew and our remit extended, we soon expanded upstairs, firmly establishing it as our long‑term home. Named by a member of staff in recognition of our sporting roots, it is a name that has felt right ever since.
Supporting world-class events
Over the years, Podium House has also welcomed countless clients and suppliers through its doors. Behind those doors, plans have been made and delivered for events around the world – from supporting Formula 1 seasons year after year, to sailing and cricket championships and global tournaments such as the Football World Cup, the Euros and the Olympic Games.
The office has also played its part in supporting the huge Scouts Jamboree, held every four years, alongside global music tours for international artists and their crews. From detailed planning sessions to post‑event debriefs, many long‑standing relationships have been built here, creating shared memories that reflect both the scale of the work and the partnerships behind it.
Our people and leadership
Twenty years on, our people remain our greatest asset, and we are incredibly lucky to still count many colleagues among our team who were with us in those early Podium House days – some having been with us even before. Their knowledge, loyalty and commitment have helped shape not just our culture, but our reputation. And that continuity extends to our leadership too.
Our current Managing Directors, Matt and Nick Warren, took over the running of the business during our time at Podium House, continuing a proud tradition of being family run and managed throughout our 45-year history.
Evolving beyond our roots
Over the years, our business has grown and evolved in many ways. Founded to support the specialist needs of motorsport clients, we soon realised that the expertise we had developed in such a demanding, fast-paced environment could be applied to other sectors.
This led to successful expansion into other sports including athletics, football, rugby and cricket, as well as work with Scout groups. More recently, we launched our music and entertainment division – an area that has seen significant growth over the past four years and continues to be an exciting part of our future.
Sustainability and Responsibility
Podium House has been the backdrop to countless community initiatives and fundraising challenges, as well as practical steps to reduce our environmental impact. Alongside installing solar panels and creating a vegetable garden on site, our team has taken part in everything from litter picking and cycling challenges to wider fundraising efforts.
Even in the midst of demanding schedules, our staff consistently find the time to support causes that matter. We’re particularly proud of our long‑standing support for local charities, including Chestnut Tree House, and of the enthusiasm with which our people get involved.
Our commitment to doing the right thing doesn’t stop there. Sustainability has become a core part of how we operate, culminating in our achievement of B Corp certification and ISO 20121.
For us, this wasn’t a radical shift but a natural continuation of how we’ve always worked – with a focus on community, responsibility and long-term thinking. At the same time, it enables us to better support our clients, many of whom are navigating their own sustainability goals and expectations.
Navigating challenges together
Of course, the last 20 years haven’t been without their challenges. Our time at Podium House has seen everything from extreme weather events and volcanic ash clouds, to airspace strikes and the unprecedented impact of Covid.
Yet time and again, through adaptability, expertise and sheer determination, we have supported sports and entertainment events around the world to continue against the odds.
What makes Podium House special
What has remained consistent throughout everything is the dedication of our people. Our staff continually go above and beyond – not only for our clients, but for each other, our business and the wider community. It’s that shared commitment and sense of purpose that has defined our success and made Podium House much more than just an office.
Looking ahead
Marking 20 years at Podium House gives us the chance to acknowledge what we have achieved and the people who have contributed along the way. The building has seen us grow, adapt and thrive – and it remains an important part of our ongoing journey. We look forward to seeing what comes next.
