A spectacle of 18 different sports and 7 para-sports will be contested and broadcast to a cumulative global audience of 1.5 billion people.
“Hope you are now recovered from a spectacular CWG.
For me It was a fantastic experience to have had, I loved every minute, and your help and support was very much appreciated.
Look forward to hopefully working with Travel Places in the future.
Thank you again.”
Helen Dyke – Mother of Wales Netball player
“Short note just to say thanks to you and your team for a great experience at the Gold Coast Games. Really pleased with the accommodation and everything went along smoothly and easily.
Many thanks and look forward to seeing you again some time.”
“Just to add to our conversation prior to my departure from the Crowne Plaza, I arrived home safely on the Tuesday evening. My suitcase hadn’t been loaded at Brisbane but to Emirate’s credit, they delivered it by courier the following evening. I must thank you again for providing such an excellent service. I would go so far as to say it was probably one the best organised trips I’ve been part of during my business and private life since retiring. (The limo from and to the airport was a bonus!)
If you are involved in any holidays you think might interest me, perhaps you would be good enough to send me details.
I wish you and your company well.”

LUCKY TOM DALEY MEETS ROB FROM TRAVEL PLACES
Our favourite celeb spot of The Games? Definitely the wonderful Tom Daley. Tom was thrilled to meet Rob from Travel Places, or so we were told by Rob.
The diver was kind enough to stop for a quick selfie, and although it didn’t all go to plan for Tom on the Gold Coast, he and Dan Goodfellow didn’t disappoint in the synchronised 10m platform and are coming home with gold!
CELEBRATING THE FIRST DAY OF SPORT
After an incredible Opening Ceremony and a fantastic first day of sport, we’re enjoying a sunny game of Lawn Bowls with one of our groups of supporters!
As well as celebrating Team England’s first medal victory, Jess Learmonth collecting silver in the Women’s Triathlon, it’s safe to say that The Games have well and truly kicked off well!
TRAVEL PLACES STAFF TURN TO PEDAL POWER FOR THE COMMONWEALTH GAMES
“In the spirit of the games and Travel Places’ new wellbeing policy, Rob and I decided to ditch the car and hire bikes to get around the Gold Coast. Whilst the bikes are probably not the quality suitable for the Brownlee brothers or Sophie Thornhill, they have been trusty steeds to get us to hotel showrounds, supplier meetings and for the grocery shopping! It has been a lot of fun riding around on the bikes seeing the final preparations for The Games, visiting the venues and generally getting our bearings ready for all the questions our incoming guests are bound to have. However, with rented bikes weighing the same as your average small car and some pretty strong headwinds it has not been without its challenges, we are both expecting thighs to rival Sir Chris Hoy by the time we return to the UK!!”
