Women’s Euro sees two worlds collide at momentous final
The Women’s England team won their Euro 2022 semi-final earlier this week in impressive style, meaning they now face Germany in the final on Sunday. And with the line-up for the pre-match show now revealed, at Travel Places we are excited that this historic event will see two of our worlds collide.
The sold-out final, which will be held at Wembley Stadium, will be a momentous occasion for Sarina Wiegman’s team; the Lionesses have never won a World Cup or Euro trophy in their history and their last appearance in a big trophy final was in the 2009 Euros.
The final kicks-off at 5pm on Sunday 31 July and UEFA has now announced the line-up for a pre-match show that sees UK singer and Brit award-winner, Becky Hill, as the headliner. An all-female line up, Becky will be joined on stage by rapper, Stefflon Don, and 90’s singer Ultra Naté. In a live music production on a scale never seen before at a UEFA Women’s Euro final, UEFA has said it will be a ‘high-energy show-stopper that will celebrate female strength, power, and achievement, both on and off the pitch’.
The 2022 European Women’s Championship has been an exciting and inspirational tournament, drawing in more viewers than any previous edition of the football tournament, whilst also breaking attendance records. Its legacy is likely to last long after the tournament ends, encouraging more inclusive and accessible opportunities, from grassroots to competitive football.
