What you'll learn
The Academy training course is run by our learning and development team and completed full time at our offices in Worthing.
Alongside other trainees, you’ll spend six weeks receiving in-depth training on the systems and processes used across our business. This includes the tools and skills needed to support hotel bookings, flight ticketing, ground transport, pricing and client communications.
You’ll also spend time learning about Travel Places, our clients, our teams and the different areas of the business, helping you settle into life as part of our friendly and supportive team
What happens after the six-week training programme?
Once your classroom training is complete, you’ll spend time with each of our travel and events teams. This will give you the chance to see different roles first hand, watch our consultants in action and understand how our teams work together to deliver travel for major events.
You will then move into your assigned team in a permanent role. Your team placement will be based on your skills, strengths and the needs of the business.
As the leading travel specialists to the sports, media and entertainment sector, in one day our people can be working onsite with a Formula One team booking flights, managing hotel accommodation and meeting rooms for a Premier League Football Club, or supporting a high profile singer attending a music festival.

I knew that I wanted to work in travel and tourism after leaving college, but I wasn’t sure what the best route would be. The Travel Places academy has helped me to take my first steps on this path and has given me a jump start to a career in the industry.
I would advise anyone thinking about applying for the academy to go for it. Not only do you get the chance to have a brilliant job at the end, but the people you work with are lovely and there is endless support both within the academy and within your role.
With no travel experience, I never thought I’d work in travel, but the academy made my dream a reality. As a lifelong F1 fan, I’ve visited team HQs, met their travel teams, and even toured Singapore Airlines aircraft and lounges.
