Season’s greetings from all of us at Travel Places

From all of the Travel Places team, we wish our customers, suppliers and partners a very merry Christmas and a happy, successful new year.

As we prepare for 2022 to draw to a close, we reflect on what has been an extraordinary year for us and those we work with.

Over two years on from the start of the covid-19 pandemic and we have thankfully seen a more fully reopening of travel this year, with restrictions ending across much of the world. Our sports, media and entertainment clients’ calendars have been busier than ever in 2022 and we are proud to have worked with you all on so many of these events.

The year has, however, not been without its challenges and the legacy of the pandemic lingers in more ways than we could have predicted. Flight cancellations and changes to schedules, delays, baggage handling issues and strikes have all impacted travellers throughout this year. And we’ve also seen the cost of business travel rise significantly, with more increases expected next year. Despite these challenges, we are immensely proud of how our staff have navigated through them for our clients, whilst embracing opportunities. We are grateful for our team’s unwavering commitment, which ensures we deliver a personal service at each event. Only last month, in just one weekend we had members of our teams on site in locations that included Qatar for the World Cup, Dubai for Sail GP, Sao Paulo for F1 and Mallorca for the Track Cycling Champions League.

Looking ahead, 2023 looks set to be a fantastic year and we have already been busy working on plans for many sporting and music events across the world, as well as the Scouts Jamboree. Having welcomed new customers to our existing loyal client base, our team will continue to grow next year, which will ensure we can maintain the level of service you have come to expect. We had a record 28 new people join Travel Places in 2022, with more joining us early in the new year. Sustainability will remain firmly at the centre of our own strategy, and we will continue to strive forward in this journey, taking steps to reduce our impact on the world around us and supporting our clients to do the same.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers for entrusting us with their events and travel requirements this year, and our suppliers and partners who have helped us manage and exceed our clients’ expectations. As always, if you have any feedback or questions about the services we offer and how we support your business, please do get in touch.
